Being a tourist

We had to wake up very early and had breakfast in the hotel. Then we took a cab to the Ferry who showed us the Lady of Liberty and we had a little visit on Ellis Island. The island is like the gateway for all immigrants who came to America for your info. On the island is a museum in which there were pictures and showed the development in time. My mother and I got to search in the logbook if there were any relatives transported to Ellis Island and we found out there were 2! (of course we didn't know whether it is real family or just another family sharing our last name). We were pretty lucky that Peter was in a wheelchair, because we could skip all the lines. Even the ones at security checks, however they had to search him with all kinds of technology since he couldn't walk through a scanner. After Ellis Island we returned and went straight to the new WTC which is beautifully made and even taller than the former Twin Towers. We didn't get to see Ground Zero since the line was so big, so we went for a delicious meal. The restaurant was located right next to the new WTC and the sun was shining bright on it. When finished our delicious salads and bread we walked through Wallstreet. Pretty impressive, however not like I expected it to be. We passed Brooklyn bridge and walked along the water for some time. In the afternoon we did some shopping too and got back at the hotel around 9 p.m. The restaurant was pretty damn close to our hotel since it was 1 street to walk, which was very nice after a long day of walking. We ordered a 3 small pizza's which was immediately discommended by the waite, so we had a large and a small pizza which were DELICIOUS!!

We slept until 8a.m. and had breakfast at the hotel again. We went to M&M world which was awesome and my first time ever. I got to tap the colours I liked from the wall and a photobooth decided what colour M&M I am. Well I was pink, obviously xd, and there was an explanation underneath. ' You are sweet and charming both at the same time, two great characters to have'. Which was pretty sweet of the machine ;). After buying some souvenirs we went to Macy's, kind of like the same as the Bijenkorf even bigger. After falling in love with a pair of sunglasses and not buying them ( :((((( ) we left to Victoria's Secret. We've spent about an hour overthere and I loved it. People are so nice and they are very personal, they talk with you as if you are their best friend which is pretty awesome to see. We got some lunch and then dropped Peter off at the hotel. Me and my mom went on shopping and took the Subway downtown New York to go Blades. I bought a bag and afterwards we went to the foodlocker too. These were the last things we bought, which is good otherwise I would be in red I guess, ( I'll have to work hard when I return back to Holland xd). We took the subway Uptown and finally relaxed for a bit at the hotel. We decided what we wanted to have for dinner and packed our bags because next day we had to leave already. We went to John's (again) and enjoyed another pizza, still very good. :):) My mother and uncle enjoyed their last evening in New York and we went to bed.
